At the Faculty of Nursing and Nutrition, students can develop a wide variety of skills, which include high-level "nursing skills" required for working at the front line of medical care, "creative skills" to be able to make better nursing plans, and "communication skills" to understand what patients need and to team with doctors, pharmacists and social workers. There are many hospitals and welfare facilities near our campus, ensuring a practical education in the field and high-quality practical training. We also have a curriculum that can broaden students' horizons by having joint classes and seminars with other faculties and they can learn a wide range of knowledge about health, medical care, welfare and public administration.
- In pursuit of a "clinical education", we are the first "private university" in the country to cooperate with "national hospital organizations". Since our campus is located inside the National Hospital Organization Chiba-East-Hospital, we are able to carry out our programs where students can be involved with patients from their first year.
- Nurses and dietitians are also needed in the welfare area, in places such as social welfare facilities and day care centers. We are cooperating with a special nursing home named "Shukutoku Kyoseien", so that our students can acquire knowledge and skills of nursing in the field of welfare. The students will also learn the nature of elderly nursing and community nursing by being directly in touch with users.
- In order to create the foundation that can ensure the students to implement care by teaming with doctors, pharmacists and social workers, our curriculum involves interactions with students in the Faculty of General Welfare. By working with students from other faculty, it will help students to understand the uniqueness and expertise of welfare and develop multiple perspectives.
